Restraint of trade clause

Hi

I have signed a restraint of trade clause not to repilicate any of the information that a client currently specialises in for a period of 12 months.

How enforceable is this contract if I had to begin a simimlar service that does not utilise any of their core content and/or products? I am not an employee but a contractor.

Thank you for your time.

Regards Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Not of legal mind, just a view...

You have answered your own question..

'YOU signed a restraint of trade clause not to repilicate any of the information that a client currently specialises in for a period of 12 months.'

Why would you be asking how 'enforceable' it is if you had intent at the point of the signing, not to honour the agreement?

Bottom line..Play your part in the agreement, there's no such thing as a free lunch ;-)
